WURD Radio, established in 2002, stands as Pennsylvania’s only Black‑owned and operated talk radio station—and one of just a few nationwide. Founded by Dr. Walter P. Lomax Jr., a physician‑entrepreneur who dedicated his life to enhancing health, wealth, and community for Black Philadelphians, WURD continues his legacy under the leadership of his daughter, President/CEO Sara Lomax‑Reese.
