Jomo Tariku
Jomo Tariku is a Black- and person-of-color-owned visual art practice based in Waterloo, IA. Operating from the cultural hub at 110 E 4th St, Jomo focuses on community-engaged art, creative storytelling, and public workshops aimed at amplifying diverse voices. His work spans mixed-media illustration, culturally reflective murals, and collaborative installations that explore Black identity, heritage, and social healing.
In partnership with local organizations and cultural venues like The Soul Book Nook, Jomo leads family-friendly workshops, art mentoring sessions, and pop-up exhibitions. His mission is to bring people together through creative expression, cultural dialogue, and accessible art education.
