Overdue Recognition Art Gallery
Overdue Recognition Art Gallery, founded by Jackie and Derrick Thompson, began in 2004 and relocated to Bowie Town Center in 2017. As Bowie’s first gallery dedicated to African American art, it features a vibrant collection from nearly 40 Black artists—showcasing paintings, sculptures, limited editions, and fine art memorabilia that reflect culture, history, and innovation.
Operated as both a retail gallery and community hub, Overdue Recognition offers custom framing, art consultations, collectors guides, and event rentals.
