The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) – Alabama Chapter is committed to saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide. As part of the national nonprofit, the Alabama Chapter offers local programming, awareness campaigns, and events such as the Out of the Darkness Walks to raise awareness and support mental health.

The chapter collaborates with schools, workplaces, and community organizations to provide evidence-based education programs and trainings like Talk Saves Lives and More Than Sad. It also works to influence public policy through advocacy and ensures that those who have lost someone to suicide receive compassionate support.
